Marrakech to Erg Chebbi 4-Day Desert Trip Itinerary:

The thrilling four-day Marrakech to Merzouga desert adventure will begin at a very early hour. We will pick your up at about 08h00 AM at either your accommodation or Riad.

The first stop will be Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou, however, to get there we'll be traveling along Tizi Ntichka pass and the High Atlas Mountains past adobe Berber villages. We'll be making numerous stops on the route to snap scenic photographs or stretch your legs or enjoy an espresso.

After a short visit to Ouarzazate to eat lunch we travel on to reach the oasis Skoura which is the most affluent oasis of Morocco's Sahara desert, and renowned for its beautifully renovated Kasbah Amridil, which is worth a trip.

Take this local Casbah guide to make a trip to the site and find out about the Sahara design and techniques of irrigation that were used in the oases around since the middle ages.

From there, you can drive to Boumalne Dades in the valley of the Roses which is famous due to it's Damascus Rose plantations and local cooperatives that distill rose water as well as making local cosmetic products based on roses.

Before we arrive at our lodge, we will drive up to Dades Canyon's top to take a short trip.

Overnight and dinner the night at Your Dades Valley lodge.

After breakfast that is delicious We begin our journey through the 1001 Kasbahs route to the village of Tinghir in which you can be captivated by the enchanting atmosphere that is the Todgha River. You will feel the desire to go for stroll through your River Banks, and meditate over the old and unique life style of the Berber Kasbahs and villages, until you are confronted by the vast landscapes of huge cliffs in Todgha Gorges.

After a great morning, we will head for Gorges in the afternoon, where we'll enjoy lunch.

Then, in the evening, we will continue our journey towards Erfoud which is famous for its market on dates and the fossilized marble production.

The next stop is the holy city of Rissani where the origins of the Alaouites, the dynasty. Alaouites that continues to rule Morocco to this day.

Then, from here we travel towards Merzouga.

Be ready for a thrilling camel ride as you relax back and let yourself be amazed by the changing colors of dunes and a breathtaking sunset.

Return towards the Sahara Desert camp where a stunning Moroccan dinner in the open air and right next to the campfire, there is a ready for your arrival.

Enjoy your meal and relax while the local nomads play music on drums, which resonate and delight your ears.

After taking in this breathtaking view take a seat and relax for a romantic night.

After a rousing early rise to enjoy the sunset, and enjoy a camel ride (or jeep ride) back to the village of Merzouga and meet your driver and prepare for another day of adventure and adventures.

Take a drive across the volcanic massifs that make up the northern slopes of the Anti Atlas Mountains to the village of Nkob. Then the drive through the fabled Draa Valley is set to begin.

Travel through a variety of villages of mud-bricks that are scattered across the Valley. After mid-afternoon we'll arrive at Agdz which translates to the place of rest in Berber in the sense that it was the last site of rest for the camel caravans that traversed the North African Sahara desert from Marrakech to Timboctou.

From here, take a drive to Ouarzazate and stay overnight in your hotel.

After breakfast, we will depart to the west for a brief drive to explore the beauty of Berber villages in Kasbah Ait-Ben Haddou, an extremely frequented places in Morocco. It is thought to be a wonderful illustration for Moroccan earthen clay architecture, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. It also served as the production location for several Hollywood epics, including Gladiator in addition to Lawrence of Arabia.

Yes, many ATV rental businesses in Merzouga provide high-quality dunes buggies and quad bikes within the Erg Chebbi dunes. Your guide will help you with this and then you’ll pay the vendor in Merzouga. They will charge you 50 Euros per hour for a quad.

There are electrical outlets within the Merzouga Sahara desert camp’s the public areas, restaurants and the camp courtyard. But, the generators will be shut off at midnight.
