Enjoy the 4-day Fes tour from Fes to Marrakech desert tour that combines the two cities of imperial importance Marrakech and Fes through a journey through the breathtaking Morocco Sahara desert. Journey between Fes to Marrakech in a four-day journey taking in Marrakech’s Moroccan desert, riding camels through Erg Chebbi, and spend the night in the Berber Sahara desert camping spot in the Erg Chebbi dunes.
After breakfast in your riad or hotel, you will meet your driver-guide. Begin your journey with driving over the Saiss plains until Ifran which is famous for its distinctive modern architecture, and is a popular winter destination for locals. Continue to drive through Cedar forests until you reach the Berber city of Azrou which is located in the middle of Azrou, which is located in the Middle Atlas Mountains.
Stop for a moment to take a look at some Barbary Apes roaming around and taking photos.
We'll continue on until Midelt and then take a break for lunch. Midelt is the largest agricultural and commercial hub in the region. It is renowned due to its mine industry as well as contemporary apple farming.
We head down into Ziz Valley early in the afternoon. The valley is well-known for its beautiful oasis of date palms and numerous Kasbah villages. It is easy to feel the desert getting closer, as we see an abrupt change in the surroundings from here.

After having a late breakfast and lazy day, you will take your guide to an adventure-filled day in the Merzouga region: Travel into the village of Khamlia and get to know your local Berber nomads who will perform Gnaoua music and have tea. Find fossils in the area, and enjoy sand-bashing with your expert driver.
In the late afternoon, you will meet the camels for a thrilling ride through the dunes with changing colors. After having a stop at the top of one of the dunes, and watching the sunset over the horizon, you will go on toward Your Sahara desert camp.
A dinner buffet will be held under starry skies (Weather permitting) The dinner will be then followed by an Tam Tam drum session entertained by local nomads.
The next day, you can choose the option of getting up early and walk to one of the dunes in the vicinity to view a stunning sunrise before having breakfast. Take your camel back to the main town, where you will meet with your driver.
Today's adventure will begin by visiting the holy city of Rissani where was born the dynasty's founder, that ruled Morocco to the present. If you are there, you may be interested in visiting the market for dates in the area and get to know the various varieties of dates that the Tafilalet Region is famous for.
We're still at Tinghir an old military base during the French occupation and Berber Village was home to an enormous Berber Jewish community from the 1660s, when they largely moved to the United States. The Berbers of the area inherited silver jewelry making skills of the Jewish community and a visit to their shops is a worthwhile experience.
Begin your journey with a local guide. stroll along the pond next to the stream, taking in the locals tending to goats and working on their farms. Finish your walk with amazing views of Todgha Canyons, a group of high rivers with limestone canyons.
In the afternoon, travel on to Boumalne Dades for dinner. Then, over night in the hotel you booked.
Just beyond Boumalne Dades lays the Valley of the Roses. If you're in the area during the season of spring, simply you can open the car windows, you'll notice it will be awe-inspiring. Damascus Roses smell will strike you! Take advantage of the chance to visit a local hand-crafted distilling facility for rose water. From here, follow the road that runs through 1001 Kasbahs towards the sanctuary of Skoura.
Explore the Kasbah Amridil One of the most preserved Kasbahs in Morocco is now an exclusive museum. If you're keen to discover more about Berber's history, tradition as well as architecture and irrigation methods and techniques, a guided tour of the Kasbah is well worth the time.
Continue on to Ouarzazate to make a short stop before arriving at the nearby Kasbah Ait Haddou. PS The period is from March 1st until September 30th, we recommend that you begin your journey with a night in your Sahara desert campsite, followed by the overnight at Merzouga Lodge. With hotter days and longer hours in this time of year it's more comfortable to travelers who pick this route. Check-in and unwind in the air-conditioned rooms or swim in their pool after 13h00!

Distance from Fes towards the Sahara desert (Merzouga dunes) is 463 kilometers (287 miles). The journey, however, is full of stunning landscapes and stops at various points.
Distance between Marrakech between Marrakech and Fes is 520 kilometers using the motorway that runs through Casablanca in Morocco and Rabat. If you decide to travel through to the Middle Atlas Mountains and Beni Mellal the distance is 557 Km. The journey via The Middle Atlas Mountains is more picturesque, however you will need to set aside a full day to experience the trip. There’s an even more extensive and popular route to reach Fes from Marrakech by driving through Merzouga as well as through the Moroccan Sahara desert. It’s 1030 km and requires three days minimum.
There will be outlets for electricity within areas like your Merzouga Sahara desert camp’s public areas, restaurants and in the courtyard of your camp. The generators will be shut off around midnight.
Showers are not offered at the camp’s Lodge in Merzouga the next day. If you opt to upgrade to the luxurious camp, the camp will come with an attached bathroom that has hot showers.
Yes, you can. A separate 4×4 will be used to transport guests to the camp at an additional cost of 30 euros ( Transfer back ). If you opt to upgrade to a luxury camping area, then a return 4×4 transfer will be provided at no additional cost.
Yes, you can. There are a lot of ATV rental businesses in Merzouga that provide high-quality Quad bikes as well as dunes buggies to the Erg Chebbi dunes. Your guide will assist with this and then you’ll pay the provider in Merzouga. They will charge you 50 Euros per hour, per quad.
